A private dining room for a wedding meal An invented private dining room centers the event on one shared table, with the service doorway and surrounding space visible. What I want to borrow: This format suits a gathering built around a meal and conversation. Existing furniture, tableware and atmosphere can form most of the design brief. Adaptation to discuss: Ask actual restaurants about privacy, capacity, menus, minimum spending, service timings and permitted decor. Confirm how speeches or music would work without assuming a separate dance floor. Questions for our supplier: • Is the room fully private throughout the booking? • What menu and service choices are actually available? • Can guests hear a short toast from every seat? Scope to confirm: A private dining room with a defined meal sequence, seating and exclusive-use boundary. Responsible people: Venue manager and coordinator; agree access, weather and guest-flow responsibilities. Before confirming: Confirm public access, sound, actual meal timing, minimum spend and what the room must look like at handback. Working example (replace with actuals): Walk the real site with the venue, annotate the guest route and sheltered layout, and put access and handback windows beside each setup task. Budget
See how a restaurant meal, a staffed reception and an empty-space celebration move money between guests, service and fixed costs.
